Exit Pass-Through

Pass-Through sends pointer input to the app beneath Presenter. Rideword checks the global recovery shortcut before it can turn on.

1. Press ⌘⌥T on macOS, even while another app has focus.
2. Or move the pointer over Presenter’s fixed safety strip to temporarily restore its controls.
3. Or choose Presentation → Exit Pass-Through from the native menu or Exit Pass-Through from the tray.

Recovery preserves your reading position. If Rideword cannot confirm the global shortcut, entry remains blocked. See the repository’s canonical recovery contract for the full QA behavior.

Screen sharing and recording

Rideword asks compatible macOS capture paths to exclude its window, but this protection is best effort. Modern capture tools can still include the overlay.

Preferred setup: share the specific app window beneath Rideword—not Rideword and not your entire screen—then confirm the outgoing view before presenting.

Opacity and Pass-Through change how Rideword looks or handles input; neither makes its content private.

Before every live session

1. Use a throwaway script with no sensitive notes.
2. Start a private call or recording with the exact app and share mode you will use.
3. Check the outgoing view from a second participant or the finished recording.
4. Repeat after macOS, Rideword, or conferencing-app updates.

If the overlay appears, stop sharing and switch to a specific app-window share. Do not rely on Rideword to protect secrets. Current Phase 0.4 evidence covers a macOS regional screenshot and in-app renderer capture; live Teams, Zoom, Meet, QuickTime, and OBS paths remain unverified.

License recovery

A future paid license supports one active Mac. Use Beta & License → Deactivate this Mac before moving the key when possible. Deactivation frees the server instance and never deletes scripts.

If a lost, erased, or unavailable Mac still consumes the activation, choose License / activation issue below. Include the license key, candidate version, and what happened; do not send your script. Support verifies the purchase and can reset a stale activation. Disabled/refunded keys and separately purchased major versions are handled according to the Terms.
